Blairgowrie Community Campus Public Art
This project was commissioned by Perth and Kinross Council for the Blairgowrie Community Campus, which is home to St Stephens Primary School and Newhill Primary School. The bronze sculpture explores the community’s connection to their natural heritage.
Autumn Leaves contains a mapping of their local history. There is a low relief of River Ericht running through the sculpture. The position of the historic mills along the river is marked by two optical lenses, which encourage school pupils to explore their surroundings. The position of the campus is represented in a small viewfinder.
‘I am absolutely ecstatic with the finished result! These pieces of art are fantastic, and what is clear is that the project has brought many people of all ages together and they have been able to express their creativity through it.’
– Councillor Alan Grant
