Second Skin (video)

‘Aquacultural Encounters’

Residency and exhibition, 2015-16
University of Stirling

This short film is inspired by the development of vaccines to boost fish immune systems. It shows an experimental process of making a sculpture – molten glass is poured onto salmon skin. The moisture of the salmon skin causes the glass to inflate into a large bubble, which then bursts into shards. The glass shards are used to reconstruct a new protective ‘skin’.
